Happy Thanksgiving

"Not what we say about our blessings,
but how we use them,

is the true measure of our thanksgiving."

Yellow Cucumber

Have you ever seen a round yellow cucumber?
I had never seen one until this last summer.
Crazy.
What will they think of next?

Blue Beach Glass

For a short time I lived on a Navy Base. Me and my kids would go to one of the beaches called (glass beach) to collect little pieces of glass that washed up on the sand.
It's funny when I was there I wanted off the island but, now ...... what I would give to go back. There's nothing like island life.

Blue Beach Glass

I was always on the look out for the blue pieces.

Sweet Mattie

Mattie is such a funny girl.
She like to sleep with something in her mouth,
like a blanket or a toy of some kind.
I've never had a dog do this before.

Kitty Paw print

I've been painting my upstairs bathroom floor. It was white, and I loved it ... when it was clean but, it just wouldn't stay clean very long. It showed everything. Between me, the kids and the kittys.
I was thinking something like chocolate brown with off white walls, but, then I got to Lowe's, I changed my mind. I was afraid the brown would look bad.
I live in a old house.
So I choose a green color. Called, Filoli Yew. (it's from the National Trust for Historic Preservation Color Collection). It's kinda a greenish brown color. anyway....
I got one coat painted and went downstairs to do a few other things, while I waited for it to dry, when I came back, I saw a bunch of these..........

Now my kitty has green feet. :0)

No Fishing

This made me giggle and I had to take this picture.
Notice the guy on the other side of the pond,
and, what is that in his hands .... is that a fishing pole?

NO FISHING
I guess, ......  Sometimes you just GOT to go fishing!

More from our Saturday trip

This is on the other side of the spill way. (the dam).
It was a beautiful day! We stopped at a over look.
To check out the view,
just about all the tree's have lost their leaves. :0(
Over look

As we were going down the stairs at the over look, someone -- Pam or Bob-- felt the need to deface the railing. I will never understand why anyone feels the need to sign there name on something.

bob & pam

We drove on down to the bottom, to get closer to the water. About 1 mile. And, Who do you think had been there!

Skipping Rocks At the lake

I can't believe I got this shot! My boyfriend is good a rock skipping. I count nine jumps. That's amazing. I tried one and it went plunk, with one big ring in the water. Oh well, I'll just stick with the picture taking.

Pretty Red Leaves

Our leaves are just about all gone. These are from a Bradford Pear tree. For some reason they are still mostly green and are just now turning colors. But all the red ones were at the very top of the tree so I had to get the ones on the ground.

I had five of these trees removed from my yard this years, due to a storm damage. I miss them.
I was using my 50mm lens, on Aperture-Priority set to f/5.6.
