For a short time I lived on a Navy Base. Me and my kids would go to one of the beaches called (glass beach) to collect little pieces of glass that washed up on the sand.
It's funny when I was there I wanted off the island but, now ...... what I would give to go back. There's nothing like island life.
I was always on the look out for the blue pieces.

From someone who has been landlocked in Kansas all her life... where does the glass come from? Buried treasure? Ship wrecks? Litter? I am amazed that there would be that much glass wash up!
@ Jen I was told that years ago they would dump bottles out in the ocean, I don't know if that is true. That would explain why there is so much. It was everywhere and in all colors. The beach just sparkled. very neat place.
You wouldn't think litter would be so pretty.
